Background & Training

Erika Wurz, M.S., CCC-SLP
Founder | Speech-Language Pathologist

Erika Wurz, M.S., CCC-SLP, is a board-certified and licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in California and New York with over 15 years of clinical experience across hospital-based pediatrics, outpatient rehabilitation, school systems, and private practice. She earned her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology and holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

Erika specializes in working with children, adolescents, and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder Level 1, ADHD, executive functioning challenges, and complex social-pragmatic communication profiles. Her clinical focus centers on social language, cognitive flexibility, self-advocacy, emotional regulation, and authentic peer connection; particularly within twice-exceptional (2e) and highly verbal neurodivergent populations whose strengths often mask underlying support needs.

With advanced training in autism spectrum disorders and pragmatic language intervention, Erika integrates evidence-based methodologies with a relationship-centered, neurodiversity-affirming approach to therapy. She has additionally developed specialized social communication curriculum models rooted in the UCLA PEERS® framework and tailored specifically for 2e students, emphasizing authentic interaction, perspective taking, conversational reciprocity, humor, friendship development, and real-world social problem solving.

Erika is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology at Northwestern University, where her doctoral specialization focuses on Autism Spectrum Disorder Level 1.

In addition to her clinical practice, Erika has collaborated with Speech Sisters, a global platform dedicated to empowering families through research-driven language strategies and educational resources.
